Nails need to be kept short, we cut nails then file them
Wash wrinkles with a baby wipe & apply vaseline if nose is dry. These need to be kept clean regularly.
Ears are cleaned out with baby wipe. If ears are showing any signs of dirt we use a ear cleaner that has an antibiotic mixed into it. Ears need to be checked & cleaned regularly.
Pugs have a lot of teeth which are usually crowded & crooked. These need to be brushed & maintained as frequent as possible. Treats like Denta bone can also keep tartar down in between vet visits. Toothpaste for dogs. NO HUMAN TOOTHPASTE!!
Spaying eliminates the possibility of uterine or ovarian cancer & greatly reduces the chances of breast cancer, especially when your pet is spayed before her 1st estrous cycle.
Neutering eliminates testicular cancer & decreases the chances of prostate disease. Neutering makes pets less likely to roam the neighbourhood, or get into fights.
Unsterilized animals often exhibit more behaviour & temperament problems.
Pugs are intelligent, outgoing & playful. Although they can be very stubborn & needy some same clingy. Pugs want nothing more than to please you especially if there is food involved. Although those big eyes are begging for your food you need to keep in mind how much weight he is gaining. If you find your pug is too heavy PLEASE put him on a diet. This is really important for the health of your pug.
